Tejshi Bhai is a highly skilled weaver from Kukma village of Kutch. He mastered the craft of Kharad carpet weaving from his father who developed traditional Kharad carpets amongst other items for local herding communities in Kuran village located at the India and Pakistan border of Kachchh district. Over the years,Tejshibhai has garnered a lot of fame and recognition for his craft nationally and internationally. His Kharad Carpets were exhibited in “Jindgi Jo Vanat (Weaving of life)”, an exhibition of his work in Sydney, Australia. The show was visited by the mayor of Sydney, who appreciated the craft and booked four piece of exhibition into Sydney museum. In 2015, he also received a National award for craftsperson of year 2013. In 2017,Tejshibhai was invited to Georgia in the U.S.A to participate in the “International Carpet Festival.
