Shrujan's purple 'Aari' hand embroidered and handwoven Maheshwari cotton silk Stole has been embroidered by the women of the mochi community from the Kutch region of Gujarat. The Aari embroidery is done using an 'awl'. It is the only embroidery that uses just one stitch- a very fine, flat and longish saankdi stitch. Each motif is embroidered in gradations of a single colour which creates a subtle effect, much like a painting done with watercolours.

Beautiful motifs in various colours are embroideredon the stole, the ends of which is finished with hand knotted tassels. This 58 cms x 175 cms (23" X 70") stole can be used to stylishly accessorize your Western or Indian garments.
