Shrujan's ‘Bagicha’ black hand embroidered silk potlis has been embroidered by the women of the mochi community from the Kutch region of Gujarat. The Aari embroidery is done using an 'awl'. It is the only embroidery that uses just one stitch- a very fine, flat and longish saankdi stitch. Each motif is embroidered in gradations of a single colour which creates a subtle effect, much like a painting done with watercolours.
The intricate design reminds you of a Mughal paradise with exotic flowers and beautiful jaali work that is reminiscent of a royal heritage.
Made of silk, this black 23 cms x 30 cms potli will bring elegance to any ensemble that you choose to wear. The strings tie at 23 cms from bottom.
