Maya produces craft-intensive, small-batch, handmade jewelry that uses unique, lesser-known techniques like charrakkam or patwakaam and gundikaam. Both are knotting techniques that are in danger of dying because of eroding traditional markets. We provide design interventions to these artisans to create accessories that are Indian in their spirit and global in their iterations.
