The Lugdi traces its origins to northern Karnataka and bordering regions of Maharashtra, particularly from Dharwad, a town steeped in cultural legacy and classical craft traditions. The lugdi fabric is light, airy and offers a crisp, composed fall. Traditionally worn in the Kasta or Nauvari drape these Lugdis have slowly transitioned to more contemporary draping styles.
