Description
Dabu Vibes : Hand Block Printed Chiffon Saree - Basanti. Soft paisley butis unfold across a luminous basanti yellow field, framed with intricate linear and lattice borders that bring a gentle sense of movement to the drape. Rendered through the heritage Dabu resist-print technique on fluid georgette, where layers of mud resist and hand block impressions reveal patterns shaped by centuries of desert craft. Practised for centuries in Rajasthan, Dabu is a resist-printing technique where a mud paste made of clay, gum, and natural ingredients is applied to the fabric using hand-carved wooden blocks. The cloth is then dyed — often in earthy indigo or deep natural tones — while the resist preserves the printed areas, revealing layered motifs once washed and sun-dried. The translucent texture allows the resist-printed motifs to breathe across the fabric, lending the saree an understated yet deeply rooted character. Today, a Dabu-printed saree moves gracefully from heritage wear to thoughtful festive gifting, carrying the quiet richness of Rajasthan’s craft traditions.
